The best new strap for small cameras is made by Apple

Listen up if you have a Ricoh GRIII, Sony RX100, Canon G7x or Fuji X-Half because I’m about to make your day. Last week Apple announced their annual iPhone line-up, and along with the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro came a new accessory, the crossbody strap.

Available in a range of colours, this strap is no doubt great for holding a phone, but as soon as I saw the leaked images last week of the orange one, I KNEW it would be perfect for small cameras.

Featuring a sturdy feeling clasp at each end and with a clever magnetic material woven into the strap itself it’s easy to adjust, durable and for a camera strap not terribly expensive at £59/ $59. I managed to get one ordered before the lead times leapt to 5 weeks and can confirm, it’s lovely.

If you shoot with a small to medium sized camera then this could be a great option for the fashion conscious photographer. The length adjustment is easy, it will go under a jacket and it feels like it’ll be durable. I wouldn’t put anything too heavy on there but my first impression is that this works.
